Newsletter, Dec 2011NAMASTE The festive season can be rife with potentially frustrating
situations such as the pressure to select the perfect gift. Ease tension by
taking delight in the very act of giving, with no expectation of return. When we
are open and generous, we understand that there is no separation between the one
who gives and the one who receives. In giving, one receives, and in receiving,
one also gives. The yoga teachings help us realise it's possible to find the
place in which there is no sense of giver, receiver or gift! We are simply
giving, loving and being! STRESS RELEASE MEDITATION Monday 5
December, Distinguish between the thoughts that help you to be happy and
healthy and those which create agitation and stress. This session includes a
discussion about the anxiety often linked with the festive season, an address on
the yogic approach to managing stress and an extended meditation to calm the
mind and expose the natural peace within. Meditation guidelines are included.
New and experienced students are welcome. It's important to be comfortable.
There's no need to sit on the floor. Chairs, stools and cushions are provided.
We will use the South Room. You may not be aware of this room with its separate
entrance behind the hall. It will be clearly identified on the night. Please
check with Marie. PICNIC Saturday 17
December, The year is winding down and the holiday season is gearing up!
It's a perfect time to mingle with likeminded people and help maintain your
perspective and peace throughout this busy time. We will picnic on the lawn
outside the hall, or inside if the weather is unsuitable. Please bring your own
lunch or a small plate of vegetarian food to share. It doesn't matter which
class you usually attend, everyone is welcome, even if you can only stay for a
short time. SUMMER BREAK Saturday
